Modern windshields carry cameras and sensors that run lane-keep, adaptive cruise, forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking. After a replacement, they MUST be recalibrated to factory spec. Most shops sub this out or skip it. We don't.

What is ADAS?
ADAS stands for Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems — the suite of cameras, radar, and software that powers lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, and traffic-sign recognition on modern vehicles.
On most cars built in the last several years, a camera lives right behind your windshield, near the rearview mirror. When we replace the glass, that camera's position shifts by fractions of a degree — and at highway speed, fractions of a degree translate to feet of error at 100 yards. If it isn't recalibrated, your lane-keep may drift, your automatic braking may misfire (or fail to fire), and your adaptive cruise may misread the car ahead.
Why calibration is non-negotiable
After any windshield replacement on an ADAS-equipped vehicle, calibration is required by the vehicle manufacturer. It's a safety issue and a liability issue — for the driver and for the shop that did the work. When you replace the glass, you replace the calibration. Full stop.
Static vs. dynamic calibration
- Static calibration is done in the bay with precision target boards positioned at exact distances and heights from the vehicle. The car doesn't move; the scan tool talks to the camera module until it sees the targets correctly.
- Dynamic calibration is done on the road at a specific speed range while the scan tool watches the camera re-learn the road ahead — lane lines, traffic signs, distance to other vehicles.
- Many vehicles require both. We follow OEM procedure for your exact year/make/model.
